Blackford County Jail:
A Century of Incarceration
A Midwest Paranormal Deep Dive
Some doors were never meant to open again. Established in 1879 and in continuous operation for 116 years, the Old Blackford County Jail in Hartford City, Indiana, serves as a silent witness to a century of crime, desperation, and consequences.

On March 21, 2026, Get Haunted Midwest returns to this fortress of stone walls and iron bars for a strictly limited, small-group investigation. This isn't just another stop; it's an inquiry into the spirits that remain in a building designed to suppress the living.
A Legacy of Iron and Gas
The jail was born during Indiana's booming "Gas Belt" industrial era. Its heavy doors were designed to keep men away from the world—and sometimes, from their own fate. From housing the condemned to rumors of notorious figures like John Dillinger passing through its gates, the jail has seen it all.Today, it remains one of the most intact historic jails in the region, featuring a rare, functioning cast-iron turnstile that still leads into the dark heart of the cell block. This is a place where sheriffs, their families, and the incarcerated lived side-by-side, leaving behind a complex layer of residual energy.

"The heart of the facility features tiered cell blocks with original iron bars that once housed notorious figures like John Dillinger during Indiana's industrial Gas Belt era."
The Investigation: Season One Launch
This investigation officially launches Season One, our curated journey into the Spiritualist Movement. We bridge the gap between two eras of seeking:
-
Modern Tech: Master professional gear, including EMF instruments, spirit boxes, and digital recorders to monitor the jail's active tiers.
-
Ancestral Methods: Participate in a special session focusing on raw, low-tech techniques used in the 1800s to bridge the gap before technology existed.

"Designed to suppress the living, the shadowy corridors of the booking area and basement remain intact, providing a raw and authentic environment for serious paranormal inquiry."
The Get Haunted Difference
Real History: We explore the true stories of the sheriffs and inmates who called this place home.
Authenticity: This is not a "haunted house" attraction. No actors, no jump scares—nothing is ever faked.
Zero Tolerance: Disrespect toward guests, staff, or the spirits of the property will result in immediate removal.
